UNBC sets itself apart from other universities in so many ways, including its outgoing northern personality. Students are not numbers at UNBC- small class sizes allow students to get to know each other well, and work one-on-one with their professors. The result is a relaxed, non-pretentious and productive environment in which students can grow both academically and socially.
62% of first and second year classes have fewer than 25 students. At the third and fourth year, the number is 75%.
UNBC recently opened a campus in Quesnel and a new campus in Terrace, which will open for classes in January. On the academic side, UNBC began offering a new Bachelor of Health Sciences in Fall 2006 and northern BC’s first Bachelor of Fine Arts is being developed with the Emily Carr Institute for delivery starting in Fall 2007.
