From the Western website: Founded in 1878 by Bishop Isaac Hellmuth and the Anglican Diocese of Huron as "The Western University of London Ontario," Western is one of Canada's oldest and best universities. The first students graduated in arts and medicine in 1883.

The University is located on 155 hectares of land along the banks of the Thames River in London, Ontario - a thriving city of 432,451 people, 200 kilometres west of Toronto.

Housing: If you are a single student coming directly from high school, and have received an offer of full-time admission to The University of Western Ontario by the end of May then accommodation is GUARANTEED.

At UWO, there exist several chartered sorority houses, Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Phi, Alpha Gamma Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Pi Beta Phi and 13 fraternities Alpha Epsilon Pi, Kappa Sigma, Acacia Fraternity, Delta Upsilon, Zeta Psi, Beta Theta Pi, the Kappa Alpha Society, Pi Kappa Alpha, Lambda Chi Alpha, Sigma Alpha Mu, Sigma Nu, Sigma Chi, Phi Delta Theta, Pi Lambda Phi,Pi Kappa Alpha.

Tours run from Monday, September 17, 2007 until Friday, April 4, 2008. UWO offers campus tours at 10:30am, 11:30am, and 1:30pm.

Admission Scholarships


Are automatically awarded upon admission to Western. No application is required to be eligible for these scholarships.

Student must be of Canadian citizenship or a permanent resident to qualify.Applicants must also apply directly from high school to Western's main campus for full-time first-year studies. Eligibility is based the student’s admission average for his or her program of choice, as calculated for admission purposes.
